Firsts

Sam's first day of second grade
First day of ballet class
And we didn't know it was going to be Caroline's first dance class too- but she went right in and participated in the whole class. She never stopped smiling! I never thought I would be signing her up for dance before she even turns TWO! I guess I am going to be on the lookout for a size 2T leotard.

Paint Paint and more Paint

I got my new House Beautiful magazine this week and got the decorating bug! I went to Home Depot first thing Tuesday morning and got started. I painted my stair bannister then I attacked the fireplace mantle. Two coats of black paint and I called in the experts. My friends (who have an awesome talent for decorating) came and fixed my mantle- I painted it black and Amy put a gold glaze on it! It looks amazing!
Then my friends started rearranging my furniture! It seems like a new house! So thankful to have such great friends with a creative insight!

Rodeo Fun

Check out my new boots! I LOVE them! I can't wait to find more skirts and dresses to wear them with! Caroline loves that Grandpa & Grandma rented a slurpee machine for the weekend! She cries when you take it away from her!
The kids ready for the rodeo!
Kirt & his cousins and his brothers and sister
Sam did an awesome job on the mechanical bull
Emerson had her face painted like a butterfly- she insisted on the lip stick too! She cried when we washed it off so she could go to bed! We may have to have this face painter come to the next birthday party!
And the best way to end the night?! Dippin Dots Ice Cream!

Chicago Cousins

Kirt's cousins came in town from Chicago for the weekend! There will be 10 adults and 8 kids plus the Ruby family! We got together at Len & Peggy's to swim and acclamate them to the 102 degree weather! Then last night the adults went out and we took them to Fireside Pies downtown. It was HOT on the patio but they had misters and fans! The picture above is Suzane, Tina and Misha Misha, Kim, Suzanne, Julia, and Jenny hanging by the pool at The Ruby's
Jenny, me, and Kim enjoying the patio weather!
Today we went to the Dallas World Aquarium with the Coonans! A great indoor activity!

Playtime

The kids love not having a schedule this summer! Emerson has been playing non-stop with her new birthday gifts! We went to Target (3 different Targets) this morning (because her mommy found a pair of boots I HAD to have) and Emerson used her birthday money to buy this cute salon chair to fix her baby Julie's hair- in fact Sam is brushing her hair right now.

Magic Time Machine

We had a last minute idea to take the kids to Magic Time Machine as a suprise! They LOVED it! I am so glad we went. Cinderella, Snow White, Tinkerbell, Woody from Toy Story, Mr Incredible, Scooby Doo characters- they are the waiters and they are happy to sign autographs
The kids had a magic potion drink- they were pineapple juice, oj, and sprite over dry ice so they bubbled and smoked. The kids were a little scared to drink them then they found out they were delicious.
