Christmas Eve 2008

We spent Christmas Eve at Shannon & Jim's house with the James family. The kids had so much fun playing with the goats. The goats provided hours & hours of entertainment!

The kids got SO MUCH stuff. Emerson loved her My Little Pony, her backpack and dolls. Sam loved his Super Slammer Airplanes, his cars, and everything else. And Caroline, well she took a good nap in Grandma's arms, she didn't play with too many toys!

Christmas in Milford

We went to Milford to visit my Grandma on Christmas Eve lunch.

Holiday fun at Firewheel

We took the kids to build a bear and Emerson made a horse- that is what Sam wanted to give her for Christmas! I think he made the horse, stuffed it, named it, and bathed it but he says it is for Emerson. His name is Lucky.
Our horse & carriage ride- it was really cold but Brianna and I had a good time with the kids!
The temperature was 70 in the afternoon and in the 30's by night! Crazy Texas weather!

Update on Caroline

Caroline is doing much better today. She is not coughing as much and her fever is gone. She is still holding her breath but she only does it when she is coughing or crying so I don't really worry too much about her when she is asleep. She has definetly gotten spoiled- my sweet girl used to go right to sleep when you wrap her up- now she protests to laying in her bed. She finds her thumb immediatley when you pick her up and shuts her eyes real fast like she is trying to go to sleep before you lay her back down. Thank you for all of your phone calls & emails. We had a much better day today. Hopefully we will get to take the kids to see Santa tomorrow!

Home!

After a quick trip (I guess I shouldn't say quick- any trip to the ER teaches you much patience!) we are home. I will tell you more late but the important thing is that Caroline was released and did not have to stay. We will have a very long night but at least we can manage her at home. Long story but she has been scaring her mommy by holding her breath and she has a terrible cough and cold. We had a wonderful ER doctor at Medical City and she did her breath holding performance for him and he thinks it is more related to reflux than to RSV. So he said we could go home. We were SO SO thankful. Now the challenge is keeping her from getting strep throat from Sam or the stomach virus from Emerson!

2008 Christmas Tour of Homes

BooMamaChristmasTour

My stockings hanging- we are out of room on the mantle! We didn't even hang Andy's this year! My grandma made all of our stockings- mine is still at my mom's house!

The new Christmas platter that we made from Heavenly Toes!
Definetly my favorite addition to my Christmas stuff this year. The tree- the nice ornaments have been moved near the top. Actually my 2 year old has not even touched the tree. She walks up and stands in front of it and says "No touch tree" My favorite Christmas towel
My new nativity set.
I found it at a antique shop in Winsboro.
Can't beat the $4 nativity scene!

Bittersweet

So today I spent hours (yes it took a few hours) to clear out Carolines 0-3 month clothes. I got a little sad thinking that she would be our last baby to wear these clothes. We are definetly done! Then I found all of Emerson's 3-6 month clothes and it was exciting to basically hang a whole new wardrobe for Caroline! I felt a little guily that we have so many clothes- I even ran out of clothes hangers! We are so thankful for all the hand me downs from Brooke, Jessie, & Lula! I think Caroline will have to change clothes twice a day to wear all of these once! We will have to have a few more playdates since she will be modeling all of this!

Christmas Presents

Emerson found her Christmas present- a Abby Cadabby shirt! I don't think I will every get it off of her! Maybe we traded our pajama wearing days for our new Abby shirt!

Sweet & Sassy!

I am techniquely challenged (and spelling challenged as well) the before & after pictures are out of order- but the bottoms ones are before the hair cut! She did really well for her first time at a salon. She didnt really like them putting glitter on her cheek but she of course Loved the glitter hairspray and in fact we left with a bottle! So excited that they opened at Sweet & Sassy at Firewheel!

Not Me....

My "Not Me's" this week have pictures included. If you haven't read the blog at www.mycharmingkids.net you must read her "not me's". It is a way to be honest about the things we do as parents. Somehow it makes you feel better to laugh at these things. I hope you will join me by posting your "not me's". And yes I know it is Sunday but I won't have time to post them tomorrow! Funny how once you start doing these you kinda start thinking in "not me's"- once you do it you will know what I mean!
OK, so I need to explain! I would never grab my camera when I hear Sam calling for help and look out the window and see this! Kirt & Josh were in the kitchen and definetly watching Sam when he got himself in this situation. Sam was terrified- he sat on the bounce house as it was blowing up and this is the result! If you know Kirt- he is scared of heights and I think Sam must take after him! I think he learned natural consequences in this situation and will NEVER do this again!
The picture speaks for itself- Not me or Joe (my brother in law)---I would never put Sam to bed and then play with the toys he got for his birthday- I was defiently not the first person to use the Pixos game. I did not make a martian that was pink & blue either! That would just not be right to play with his new toys! Not me!
