Kid Funnies
After our day yesterday I really needed a laugh! So I thought I would post my thoughts:
- At Walmart this morning Emerson started yelling "Look Mommy, a Pirate" "Mommy do you see pirate" "That man is a pirate" Imagine it keeps getting louder and louder and she screams all of this before I can even tell her to be quieter and tell her I see the older man with a patch over his eye riding on a scooter.
- Then, we go to check out and I am in my "I have 3 sick kids and feel terrible and my husband is out of town clothes but have to get food" and this guys comes up to me and says "Are you Stacey or Tracey?" then he proceeds to introduce me to his wife and family as "This is Stacey we went to high school together" (So clue number 1, I went to high school with him---still have no idea who he is) so into the conversation I realize I must have run into him before because he looks puzzled when I ask him where he lives- like he must have told me last time I ran into him and then he says "We are thinking of having a third child" And I said "Oh you should, 3 is great- our third one brings so much joy and happiness to our home" and he said "Yes, I told my wife you said that last time I saw you- you are the only person who encouraged us to have a 3rd baby" Then he says "Look me up on facebook" And I smiled and I still have no idea what his name is so I obviously can't look him up on facebook. He does look familiar though??
- Our other funny thing happened back in December but I forgot to blog about it- At Three Trees (Our church brings people from low-income families and they pick out gifts for their kids and get walmart/payless gift cards). Well, Kirt was standing next to the executive pastor and John says "I need a spanish interpreter" Of course Sam says, "I know someone who speaks spanish I can go get him" everyone looks at him and he said "His name is Miguel Lopez" Miguel is the spanish pastor at the church who was in the middle of a sermon to these familes. We thought it was funny- in Sam's mind he could hear Miguel speaking spanish now so why didnt we just ask him to come interpret for us!

Poor Girl
Poor sweet little Caroline had a trip to the ER yesterday. She is fine. I was cleaning my carpets yesterday and apparently it aggitated her airway with the smell- but she has had a respiratory infection since Monday and is on antibiotics. She was running around playing when I noticed she was wheezing. I listened to her and took her outside to see if the cold air would open her up while we waited on the pedi to call me back. I gave her a treatment (I had to basically sit on her and hold the mask to her face while she screamed and jerked her head around) so I am not sure if it would have been effective anyways. She was still coughing and wheezing but she was talking so I thought we would just get out of the house and maybe that would help. So no coats, one shoe and sock and no diaper bag we headed to McDonalds drive-thru. On the way home she was coughing so bad she couldn't catch her breath and she couldn't stop coughing. I gave her my coke to drink because the cold drink would help her cough and I rolled down the window. I called the pedi who told me to take her to the ER. I don't know what I would have done with out my mom and sister who both left work at a seconds notice to come rescue me. (It always happens when Kirt is out of town) When I got the girls out of the car and walked into the ER her airway opened up because of the cold wind and she was fine! Not sure the ER doc believed me but she gave her a treatment and some steroids. The respiratory therapist was very helpful and told me that since it was upper airway the treatment wouldn't have worked anyways and that I did the right thing. We have the best pedi- he called a few times to check on her and then gave me his home number in case we needed anything. We opened the windows (yes it was 30 degrees) and took refuge at my sisters house. Caroline is fine now and I will keep her on her allergy meds, antibiotic, and steroid. This is one tired mommy who will be keeping Caroline away from the church nursery until she can get her immune system back up. This has happened one other time when we were on a playground with lots of loose dirt- I think my girl just has a reactive airway!
