Emerson's first pig tails! I have to learn to fix little girls hair! It will take some practice!

I just thought I would give a quick update on Max. He had surgery for his malrotation on Friday night and we spent just a short time in ICU that evening before being transferred to the floor but it was just for close observation with him being such a little guy. He has done wonderful and surprised us all by showing signs of being ready to eat a day before expected. After we started feeds again he had a little respiratory distress yesterday so we got some tests ran that show he has a couple of other small things going on that he will eventually grow out of. One being that he has severe reflux that is causing the milk to go into his lungs and the other being a small problem with weak muscles in his trachea which is another cause for his distress. I am so relieved we found these things out before we left the hospital. Both of these things are fixable with meds and thickened feeds. We got discharged today which was such a nice surprise and he is sleeping great in his own bed right now and looks very peaceful and comfortable. Thank you for all of your support and prayers. This has been a tough time for us as well as for Brooke as she has been shuffled about and wondering where her parents and brother have been. Please continue to pray for our family as we adjust to all of these changes.

Update on Max

Hello from San Francisco. Max did really well in surgery and only had to spend about 6 hours in PICU before being transferred to the pedi floor. Tracey said he has been sleeping a lot and they will probably try to let him eat Sunday or Monday. They are planning to stay until Wednesday. She appreciates all of your phone calls & prayers and says that you are welcome to visit.

Max's surgery has been scheduled for 5:00 tonight! Kirt & I will be going out of town this weekend but I will update you on Max via my blog.

Prayers for Baby Max

Please pray for Max on Friday. Tracey & Josh just found out that he will be having surgery. He is only 7 weeks old. They will be at Medical City through the weekend. It is just such a blessing that they found the problem when they did. They were actually going in to check out his reflux when they noticed the malrotation.

Sam had an Easter Egg hunt at school.

Sam is 4 years old and Emerson just turned 8 months. We have so much fun playing with our friends & cousins! Here are some pictures from Easter! We went to church with my parents & Josh & Tracey and then we had lunch at my parents house and then dinner with The Ruby's. We had such a good time playing with all of the kids. Max is already 1 month old & Brooke is 2 1/2.

Sam is so excited about going to his first Maverick game tonight with Kirt & the Ruby boys! Emerson & Mommy are looking forward to relaxing and watching Dancing with The Stars.
