Skating & updates

I took the kids skating on MLK day.   They had so much fun.   We drove to the other side of town so they could use the "Skate Mates" which were basically PVC pipes with wheels to teach them to skate.   They had so much fun.   All 3 kids were skating without help by then end of the day!   I chose to wear shoes and help and not skate.   I was not brave enough to skate and help the kids!

Sam had his pinewood derby for boyscouts this week.   He made his car all by himself!   He didnt win but he did get an award for most colorful!   He was very excited.
I have been updating our bedroom!   I got these super cute new lamps this week!   I am going to try to paint and find drapes this week!

At the Dog Wash...

Our handsome boy after his bath
We took Andy to a local place to get a bath- it was fun- the whole family got to give him a bath, brush his teeth and dry him off.

Guess who got wet when this picture was taken- poor Sam didn't even see it coming!
We took him to the dog park before his bath.   He was one happy dog.

Christmas Eve Suprise

The week before Christmas our church always hosts needy families and gives them gifts.    It is a great way to bless others during the holiday.    Our friends met a family of 5 that only had 1 bed for their entire family.    Our church family was eager to help!    We provided bunk beds and a twin size bed- mattresses, sheets, pjs, toys for this family with the help of a ministry called BedStart.    I thought maybe 4-5  families would show up to help surprise the family with their gifts on Christmas Eve- we had ELEVEN families come out and deliver the gifts!    It really show the kind of friends we have that they have hearts for service even on Christmas Eve!    The family was so shocked and greatful for our gifts.    It was truly what the meaning of Christmas is all about- giving to others in need!   I know our family really enjoyed seeing the true joy on their faces!

Those who are kind to the poor lend to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.   Proverbs 19:17

Sam is 9!

Sam turned 9 this week!    It is hard to believe I have a 9 year old!
We always get the limo for his birthday- here is Emerson dancing away!   I think this is the last year she will be able to stand up without hitting her head!
We took 7 boys to Top Golf today.   Very fun.

Even Caroline had to buckle her baby in the limo- baby goes EVERYWHERE with us-
