Caroline & Santa

 She loved Santa!    She had so much to tell him- they talked about baby dolls, elf on the shelfs and of course she told him all about Emerson's toe.   

We had a date at the mall- went to the disney store and a Sonic drink.

Emerson

It has been a traumatic weekend here.    Emerson broke her toe.   It was a crazy accident and the bar stool fell on it.    It bled for almost 2 hours before they could get it slowed down enough to put skin glue on it.    They x-rayed it and it was fractured- like a little zig zag.   They gave her a walking shoe and the first thing she wanted to do was decorate it- that doesn't suprise any of us.   Then when we got home it started to bleed again so we had to go back.   We ended up spending 4 hours at the Acute Care Kids.    Then the next morning they wanted us to come back again because it was still bleeding.    Now the plan is for me just to change the dressing 3-4 times a day until we can see the Orthopedic Dr on Monday.   Emerson made friends with everyone at Acute Care- the nurse that was on duty Friday called to check on her and they texted her a picture of Emerson's blinged out shoe.   She knows where all the Popsicle and suckers and stickers are kept and she was all smiles when we left.    She has been a good patient (except trying to teach her to swallow a pill- NOT FUN)    Since she hates to watch TV it is hard to keep her sitting still very long!

Marriage Retreat

 Every year our Sunday School Class hosts a Marriage Retreat.    It is a fun weekend of listening to a speaker and spending time with you husband.    We look forward to it every year.   This year our speaker was amazing.    He was from a church in McKinney.   Here are a few pictures of Kirt & I from the weekend!

Field Trip Fun

Caroline had a really rough recovery from her surgery.    She looks like this above photo when her Motrin wears off and then below when she is medicated.    It took an entire week to get back to normal.    She was really wanting to go to school she missed her teacher but I made her wait.    She was up every 3 or 4 hours at night complaining her "teeth" hurt.   Sweet girl is finally back to her sweet self!

 Emerson had her first Kindergarten field trip this week.   I rode on the bus with her class to the pumpkin patch.   We took a hayride and fed the animals.

Sunday Funday

 Our friend Brianna and her boyfriend came over Sunday and we carved pumpkins.   The kids had a great time!   Sam made a scary face, Emerson made a cat and Caroline made (Bri and I made) a spider.  

A month in pictures

 Caroline and baby Sarah- waiting for tubes and adenoid surgery yesterday.    It went well.   The medicine had an opposite effect on her and she was so hyper and did not nap all day.   She insisted on going to carpool to pick the kids up in the afternoon.    She is a little cranky today and says her throat hurts but it hasn't slowed her down.    She won't let the kids touch her baby doll or sit in "her" chair to watch tv.   They just move out of her way.

 Here is our 12 year old dog Andy.   He is getting so old and having a hard time getting up on the tile.   He kept walking over to the chair last night and then looking at Kirt.   It was like he was asking if we would put him in his chair.    He used to LOVE to sit in this chair.    Kirt did help him up there and he looked so comfy.

 Mother/Son camo cookout at church.   We had a marshmallow war.    The kids made marshmallow guns out of PVC pipe and we had contests to shoot targets.  Then it turned into an all out war when we got to shoot marshmallows at each other.

 Emerson's Homework (in other words- Mommy's homework) was to make an all about me poster for school.   She was Star Student last week.

 Sam had a speaking part at school for his Rise and Shine.   He did a great job!

 Meredith & I- one of my best friends.  We have been friends since we were 16.

 Our other best friend, Ashlee came in town from Georgia this weekend!   We had 24 hours with her- we had to steal her away from her husband & family!   We shopped, we laughed, we ate.    We owe Ashley a trip to Atlanta to visit her next time!

 My brother in law Joe got a scooter.   I was the brave one that rode it.   I will not post the video- but I talk a big game but really only went about 5 mph around the circle drive.   Not a real ride- but I looked official!
