Our first swim for the spring!

We had a great breakfast with Kirt's cousins from Minnesota- we took advantage of the warm weather. Grandpa Len heated the pool for the inagrual swim of the season! Sam loved swimming with Matt & Tyler. Kirt braved the water with Emerson.

Weekend getaway

Kirt & I had a great weekend away. We stayed at The Worthington and they were nice enough to upgrade us to a suite at no extra charge- I think they saw that I was pregnant and Kirt told them it was my birthday. We had a great lunch at Joe T Garcia's with mexican food on the patio- nothing better on a sunny day! Then we went and saw a movie and had dinner at Reata on the rooftop overlooking downtown and then we went to a comedy theater. We had a great time! Thanks to my parents for watching the kids overnight and Tracey & Josh for taking Sam to a carnival on Saturday. Tonite we are celebrating my birthday with Tracey & Josh and my parents have the kids again tonight! Sam & Emerson LOVE to go to Grandma's house- Sam keeps saying "I wanted to stay 5 nights- why did you come & get me?" I always joke with my mom that Sam would just rather move in over there.

Emerson's best friend

Emerson is really liking her baby doll these days. She seems a little young to be at the "pretend" stage, but she loves to feed her baby and push her in the stroller. She even "shares" her blankey with her "ba-beeee" (as she calls her)

Fun in the sun

We enjoyed the sun today washing the car. As you can tell the kids lost intrest soon! Emerson walked her baby in the stroller & Sam was worried about washing the dirt off his bike. So basically, I washed the car, but did get one picture of Sam helping.

Fun at the park

We had a great day at the park. The kids loved riding bikes and having a picnic. Grandma Karen & Tracey and the kids went with us!

Swimming fun in April

Emerson was such an innocent victim- she had no idea she was about to get squirted! She was SO SO mad at Sam- you can see Sam getting a talk about no getting his sister wet in the background! Andy thought we filled up the pool for him! Andy ended up SOAKING wet by the end of it all- He loves the water Sam got his snorkel out- Emerson never got in the water she just played from the outside!

Planting a Garden

Max was eating dirt before we even started! Grandma Karen has lots of patience! Max was so happy playing in the dirt

And the new baby is...

We know we are frustrating alot of you but we have decided to have the gender of the new baby be a suprise! We went for our sonogram on Monday and everything looked great- it weighed 11 ounces already! Since we have a boy and a girl already we decided to be suprised this time! So we will find out in August!

Sam's first t-ball game

We have been looking forward to our first t-ball game all week! Sam definetly had the biggest cheering section- Aunt Tracey, Brooke, Max, Aunt Misha, Tyler, Jessie and Uncle Joe, plus Mommy, Daddy, & Emerson! He was so excited that everyone came to watch him play!
Sam was SO excited because he got his "own" baseball bat today for doing all of his chores all week! He got to hit twice during the game- he did so good! This was his FIRST run ever! He was so excited to score! He played catcher (sort of) He didn't catch any balls but he looked super-cute in his catcher outfit! Emerson & I stood behind him and cheered "go Sam go!" She cheered the whole time because the rest of the crowd was cheering

Lone Star Park

My Uncle & Aunt were in town from North Carolina this week! We went to opening night at the horse races on Thursday! We had a blast. This was a first for the Ruby family. The kids LOVED it- we got to sit right along the fence and Sam was so happy because one of the jockeys threw Sam his goggles- of course Sam had to take them to school today!

Sam's first admirer(s)

When we picked Sam up from preschool yesterday he told us that his friend Brooklyn had given him a braclet- he later revealed that she got it for Easter, but he insists that she wanted him to have it and said he could "keep it forever". Then when we looked in his bag we found a note that says "Sam, I love you". He says "Oh my friend Grace gave me that". We thought it was so funny he is collecting things from two different little girls already! He is only 5!
