Cubscout Family Camp

we went on a family campout with the cubscouts this weekend. We went to a state park about an hour and a half away. It was going to be an adventure with a 1 year old, 3 year old and 7 year old! We only stayed Friday night but we crammed a whole lota fun into that!
We made smores and roasted marshmallows
This was breakfast Saturday--- the more experienced campers made an entire breakfast--- pancakes, sausage, bacon (which you see above cooked over a campfire), and scrambled eggs.
We then packed up and drove 20 minutes to the Texas Freshwater Fishery. The kids fished in 3 ponds and we did the catch and release. This momma is NOT into cleaning fish as a matter of fact I don't even touch them- Kirt takes them off the line! It makes me laugh becuase growing up my Uncle Royce always said okay I will show you how to bait your hook one more time after the 10th time and so we learned to go ask my Grandpa- he always baits our hooks and he still would for the 100th time- he called it Princess Fishing when you basically just cast and hold the pole.
After about 15 minutes we had already caught 3 fish- 2 catfish and one sunfish/perch. Then the girls got bored so we went and fed our bread to the ducks.

Coming home

Baby Julie had a great ride
This is the scene from the mini-bar in the room- it is on the desk with instructions saying that if you move or lift any item you will be charged. I explained and explained to the kids NOT to touch it! Of course Caroline didn't understand and every day she would go and pick up something up. It was bolted down so we couldn't move it-- the snacks just stared at us for the whole week!
Imagine sitting next to us on the plane.... 3 very tired kids, no naps (and no they didn't sleep on the plane), and to top it all off Caroline has croup so she is coughing and has a fever- we got dirty looks every time she coughed that barky cough. AND Emerson lost her beloved taggie blanket at Disney World so she was beside herself not being able to comfort herself with her blankie and sucking her thumb. Losing blankie has been trying for all of us- I am sad that I do not have her baby blanket to keep as a keepsake! We pray that it turns up and they mail it to us!

Born to be Wild

Today we went to Downtown Disney to shop for souveniers and then we headed to Disney Hollywood Studios. The kids had a great time there. Our favorite was the Toy Story Mania- it was a ride with a laser and you aimed and shot at things and your car moved around. It was very fun. Emerson also got to see the Little Einsteins and the Little Mermaid and Cars. Kirt liked the car stunt show. That night Kirt and I went to a Rockaroake party- karoake with a live band. And yes, I went up with a group of distributers and we sung Born to be Wild. I tried to sneak off a few times before the performance but they always found me and drug me back to the waiting area.

Mothers Day

We started Mother's Day out with brunch-- Jason Castro and the Newsboys performed. It was really good- the kids lost intrest after about 45 minutes.
What a great day! We went back to Magic Kingdom Sunday evening- it was cool outside and the lines were not long so we had a great time! The kids LOVED the carousel. We seached and searched for Emersons blankie and Kirt even went and searched the 3D theater and no luck-- we will go to lost and found in the morning!
