What a week!

What a week! We have had an adventerous week! Kirt just started traveling again and of course it was the night of the big thunderstorm here. I started getting sick on Monday afternoon so I was really not feeling well Tuesday night when the storm was headed this way. Sam would not go to bed because he kept hearing the NOA weather radio reports (finally I took the battery out) and let him get out of bed- I put the girls down at 7:00. My neighboor was so sweet to come over to help me in case we needed to wake the kids if the tornado alarms went off. It seems that all of the cities around us sounded the sirens but our city never did. At one point we could hear all of the toranado sirens but they were from a nearby. Well the next day my dad called and told me I really need to watch how I handle those situations because I don't want to give my kids an unhealthy fear of storms- my parents are WAY TOO laid back about tornados and storms & Kirt is really paranoid- so I try to be a happy medium?! Well the next day Sam came home from school and had a picture in his bag that he drew- yes, it was a picture of a house and a family running from a tornado and the boy was holding a flashlight and siren. It made me kinda sad. My friend said he probably couldn't sleep because he was "protecting" his girls since Kirt was out of town. My sweet boy! Then Emerson & Caroline both have ear infections and Kirt & I both have bronchitis! I kept putting off going to the doctor thinking it would go away but I obviously need some antibiotics now! Then this morning Sam told me he was going to run away from home after school today. He was very upset that I interupted his tv time by telling him to go put his shoes on for school! It was really hard not to laugh picturing my kindergartener running away from home!

Good grief, Stacey!! I'm going to call you in the morning to make sure you've survived one more night. Sorry you've had such an awful week!! And don't worry about Sam, I tried to "run away" AND hitchike several times when I was 5. (I hitchiked in our front yard....!)
