And the winner is....

Sam took 1st place in his Pinewood Derby this weekend! We were pretty surprised that he won but he did! And he was so excited! He even said "I am so happy I think I might sleep in my scout uniform". He was bouncing around bright and early at 5:30 a.m. ready to go to the district race. He didn't do so well at that race but he didn't care because he had his metal from the night before! He brought his car and metal to school on Monday!
Max, Emerson, & Brooke--- my parents, Tracey, and Kirt's parents all came to cheer for Sam!

Emerson was student of the month this month at school! She was so excited to make her poster!
Her hair is finally long enough for a pony tail! She is 18 months and 23 pounds! Definetly smaller than the other Ruby babies!
Sweet Emerson ready for picture day!

The Final Rose

Yes, I hosted a Bachelor watching party Monday night. We had so much fun-- even though Jake picked the wrong girl. We had 11 ladies over and we handed out roses at the end of the night!
Sam is SO proud of his pinewood derby car. He loves it! He even snuck it into his bag and brought it to school on Tuesday! His big race is Friday night! More pictures to come!

Fireman Max

Caroline was really upset when I took her cupcake to take the wrapper off! She was going to eat it too!

Boyscout Banquet

Sam was so proud of the tent and lantern that they made for decorations.
Our Tiger Cub

Roasting Marshmallows

Kirt got us a fire bowl for Valentines Day! We love to sit outside and roast marshmallows or bring Kirt's iphone out and listen to music by the fire! What a great gift!

Class Parties & Valentines

Sam's Valentines Party was today. I am the room-mom for his class. We made heart picture frames and the kids decorated them with stickers and then they made a tissue-paper flowers for their moms. It started out VERY stressful because at 1:40 I went to load the car to go and could not find my keys--- I looked everywhere. By 2:00 I was in tears crying because I was going to have to walk with both girls and all of my stuff to the school and have 16 kids waiting on me and did I mention the party started at 2:00! I called my friend to see if she could come get us and then around 2:10 found my keys in the laundry basket. Sweet little Emerson said, "Mommy, we could just pray real hard for your keys". So she did! It wore me out just being that stressed! UGH! First on the to-do list is get a spare car key!
Caroline got to see her best friend, Buttercup the gerbil. She cried and threw a fit when it was time to go! She stood there saying "Buttercup! Buttercup!" for about 30 minutes!
Sam keeps sorting thru his loot!
Emerson did great at the party. She loves to be a helper so she passed out the treats and drinks. All was good until I realized she was taking candy from the kids boxes- a few of the kids were so kind and kept hugging her and giving her things. Then one little girl got really mad at her for taking her candy and Emerson started crying and yanking the candy away! Talk about a huge meltdown! I guess thats what happens when you take her without a nap! The kids were so kind and so well-mannered and so thankful for their party. It really makes my heart happy how sweet and well-mannered the kids in Sam's class are! Well, unless you are a 3 year old trying to take their candy!
Sam made a football shaped box to keep his Valentines in!
Here is the flower he made for me!
On Valentines day we made chocolate covered EVERYTHING! We did strawberries, marshmellows, bannanas, and graham crackers! Delicious!
And had a delicious dinner of pork tenderloin, roasted garlic potatoes, and asparagus and apple-blue cheese salad!

Thank you God for the snow!

My kids have been up since about 5:45 this morning! I tried everything to make them go back to sleep---threats, bribes, ignoring them....no luck! They were just too anxious to get outside. We made biscuits and gravy for breakfast and then headed outside after we put Caroline down for a nap! Thank you God for the snow and being able to create great memories with my family!
