Her ear is still bleeding a little. I got a huge clot out!
I am still a little nervous that something may not be right but she is so happy!
We had a quick lake getaway with my parents & Brooke this weekend. The kids could hardly wait to put up Sam's new tent! Not to sleep in but to play inside. I think they had more fun putting it up than actually playing in it!
I would LOVE it if Brooke could come over and play everyday! She entertained all three of my kids. She would go from room to room playing with Sam & Emerson and of course she loves to hold Caroline! While she was there I got 2 dinners made (I was brining one to a friend), talked on the phone, made Sam do homework, and did a load of laundry! Who knew a four year old could help out that much?! And I had everyone in the car by 5:30 to go deliver the dinner in Plano!
You know I am always looking for cute teacher gifts! I found this idea on a website and thought it was perfect for Valentines gifts! SO EASY! Just get a bottle of instant hand sanitizer- make sure all of the labels are removable and then decorated them with stickers & ribbon! Kirt thought it was so funny because the stickers kept me busy for about an hour. He said he now sees why Emerson is so entertained by stickers =)
Emerson lost her blankie at church yesterday! Poor girl has been SO sad! She was up at 4 a.m. crying for her "Taggie" blanket. You can see from the picture that she finally gave up and fell asleep in the recliner at 9:00 this morning. I gave her 3 different blankets trying to "substitute" the real one and then I found a onsie of Carolines that had the "Taggie" ribbons on it so she fell asleep holding the onsie. Good news is that Ms. Penny from church just called and said she found it! I will be there ASAP to retrieve the blanket! And I'm not sure that it will ever leave the house again! Ms. Penny saved the day!
Andy Pettite came to speak at church yesterday and Sam was so excited to stand in line for his autograph. Hence, where we lost the blanket above!
We had lunch with Kirt today at his office. The kids love to bring lunch to their daddy and eat in his office. I think Sam just likes to write on the windows with markers (Kirt uses his windows as a dry erase board). Here is the conversation that followed after we got in the car:I promptly called Kirt to let him know that Sam remembers EVERYTHING! I tried to explain that Kirt rotates out his "artwork". But to Kirt's defense- he did have about 5 colorings and paintings that Sam has given him to put in his office all displayed along the windows and desk.
Our sweet Caroline decided to roll over! She is 4 months old already! She is about 14 + pounds and so great! Except that she is waking up during the night again! She is definetly not following the "Babywise" book! (But then again, maybe her parents need the cliff notes- no time to read with 3 little ones) Anyways, we are hoping it is just a growth spurt and she will sleep till at least 7:00. I had all three kids up by 5:45 this morning! They all take after their daddy and are EARLY risers! Since he is up anyway I take advantage of every nap I get- interupted or not! I try to stay in bed until at least 6:45! And people always wonder why I put my kids to bed at 7:30 most nights!
Isn't her shirt SO cute! My friend Jessica got it from her from this great website www.emtannerdesigns.com (If you watch Jon & Kate plus 8- she does the shirts and plates for the kids) We have the plate also and it is so cute too!
Caroline and her very worried face! She got 4 shots today! She weighed in at 14 pounds 8 ounces at her 4 month appointment! Big girl!
Sam is always festive!
We spent NYE at Kirt's parents house with his brothers & sister. We had an early celebration and the kids were in bed by 9:00! I had to work on NY day so we made sure to be home early. But no doubt that our neighbors were all having parties and shooting off fireworks that woke us up at Midnight! Thanks to the dog barking and the chaos! Not a happy family when you wake my children up in the middle of the night and Mommy has to work the next day!
We went out with Joe & Tina to the local country hangout! Kirt & I felt pretty old since we went home by 10:00! We know that our children wake up the same time every morning no matter what time we go to bed.
Joe was such a good sport riding in between all of the kids!
Joe & I had an adventure shopping for a belt in Winsborro and then we stopped at the Handy Farms on the way home. Joe bought some chili and some candy. It was quite an experience. We were laughing so hard at their advertising that we had to take a picture! I guess it did its job though because it got our attention to go in!
