Another Game Ball

So t-ball season is coming to an end. Sam was SO excited that he got a second game ball at Saturday's game. He is so proud. If you ever hear me talk about our t-ball experience I usually will tell you that even though Sam is the catcher he rarely touches the ball except to hand it to the umpire that puts it on the tee. He does make sure that he gets nice and dirty though- even if it is by rolling around in the dirt in the outfield. But our friend, Rex, gave him a t-ball stand so he LOVES to practice hitting- he has gotten to be a pretty good batter. I wasn't sure that he would want to stay with t-ball since there are so many boys on the team that are so much better. I don't think we have even won a game but Sam doesn't seem to notice. After winning these two game balls he keeps telling me how much he loves baseball and wants to play again. He has both of his balls in cases right beside his bed!

Our new rooms

We finally got the kids settled in their new rooms. We have been working for the last month trying to get everyone moved around so we could clear out for the baby. Sam now has the "big" room that also has the playroom and Emerson moved to Sam's old room- since we don't know the gender of the baby we just left the baby's room green and I have both boy & girl crib bedding. Emma will stay in her crib until mommy feels settled enough to move her- Misha was so sweet to save Jessie's crib for us. So we have 2 cribs.

Our Superstar!

Sam was SO excited to win the game ball at his t-ball game. (Mommy was pretty proud too) Coach gives the game ball to the player that did the best that game. Sam batted 100% and scored 3 runs. He was so happy- he came home and took his autographed Cal Ripkin ball out of its case and replaced it with HIS game ball- he even brought it to Braums with him to get ice cream with Grandpa & Grandma.

Our sweet Andy

Thanks for all of your concerned calls about Andy yesterday. He is recovering at home. They took a mass off of the base of his tail yesterday but they sent him home last night- we thought they were going to keep him. The doctor gave us NO information about what it was. She just said we will have to wait on the pathology to come back. He looks very sad today in his cone collar- he is notorious for getting his stitches out. Emerson walks around laughing at him- she thinks his hat is really funny.

Playing with Jack & Lula

Emerson & Lula had such a great time at the spray park-- Emerson loved
another girl in the house

Jack & Sam played so well together!

Our friends came to visit from Florida! We had such a good time. We took the kids to the spray park in Richardson today. Sam thought that since he had a friend spending the night that he was going to get to sleep on the top bunk of his new bunk beds. He was a little dissapointed with the sleeping arrangements! We figure that once the new baby gets here we will make a big deal out of him getting to move to the top bunk.

Slip N Slide & Andy news!

So, as you can tell we found a new toy! Sam & Brooke had so much fun today playing on the slip-n-slide. (Yes, I read the warnings that they were dangerous, risks of neck injuries, etc. etc.) I have a feeling that this will probably be the only time they play on it! Most things that take some blowing up don't last too long at our house. My sister also went on the slip n slide- I have pictures but I will save those and not post them- I think she would be pretty upset!
We have had a long week- even though Monday was a holiday it seemed to drag on! We are busy trying to get Emerson's new room ready and we are also expecting company this weekend! We can hardly wait to see Jessica, Randy, Jack & Lula! We have been looking forward to their visit for a long time! We now have Emerson's big girl room set up, Sam's bunk beds set up and I crackle painted a dresser this week!
We also got some scary news about Andy- (our golden retriever) Andy will have surgery on Monday to remove a tumor that we found- we hope & pray that it is a benign cyst. Andy was our first "baby", we got him the year we got married- he is already 8 years old! He has gotten lots of attention and treats this week after we found his cyst.

Memorial Day weekend

We went to Kirt's parents lakehouse with Josh & Tracey this weekend. We had a great time. Finally everyone was feeling better! The weather was great. In fact, Kirt & I were so careful making sure the kids didn't get sunburned that we got terrible sunburns ourselves! We learned our lesson! Sam & Brooke loved jumping off the boat dock onto the tube then being pulled back to the dock. They did it for hours! I don't think either of them ever fell in! Brooke & Sam had such a good time swimming- we dropped anchor at the shore and they collected shells to bring home. This was right before our boat ran out of gas and we had to be towed home! Sam & Kirt relaxing on the paddle boat!
Here is Emerson - yes she still has her jammies on. She LOVED the boat and wanted to wear her lifejacket even in the house- I guess she was ready to go on the boat even at a moments notice.

Max & Emerson

Emerson loves to push her babies in her stroller. She even took Max for a ride this morning and then she pushed him out and sat in there wanting him to push her but she is a little heavy for him to push. We will see how it goes after nap time.
My kiddos have been sick since last Friday with hand, foot, mouth virus. They have both been miserable all week. It is a horrible virus that gives them mouth ulcers & little blisters on their hands & feet. I think today was the first day Emerson has worn shoes in a week. Sam has been home from school all week- it is contagious for a full week! He only has 3 more days left of preschool I am a little sad- my big boy will go to kindergarten next year. I'm glad that The Heights doesn't have any kind of graduation from preschool- I would definetly be the mommy that cried! He is excited about kindergarten and we went and paid for his school supplies yesterday so he knows where he will be going to school!

Sono pictures

Here is baby Ruby at 22 weeks- No we still did not peek at the gender. If I had to guess I guess boy- but everyone else guesses girl. I have no scientific reason to think it is a boy- but since Kirt & I can't agree on a boy name- I suspect that it MUST be a boy.

Sam's last soccer game

Sam & Grandpa Gary

Sam had a huge cheering section with Uncle Brian, Tyler, Misha, Jessie, & Grandma Karen & Grandpa Gary. Grandma Peggy was so nice to stay back & watch Emerson since she is not feeling good! We had a brunch at our house before the game- Brooke & Tracey came to that but had to go get their nails done before Brooke's big dance recital!

Our "Graceful" little girl

Emerson fell really hard on her head this week! It was one of the scariest falls that either of my kids have had. She was playing peekaboo on the couch with a blanket and got tangled up in it and fell and hit the trunk in out living room! She was pretty dazed for a few minutes but she finally got up and started playing! Now she had that enterovirus (hand, foot, mouth) she is pretty miserable with the little blisters on her tongue!

Mothers day celebrations

We celebrated Mother's Day with Grandma Karen at a restaurant on Lake Ray Hubbard. It was a beautiful night on the lake! Then I actually worked mothers day, so Kirt went to Brian & Misha's house to celebrate for dinner!

Meredith's shower

We had a baby shower to celebrate the early arrival of Andrew! We had such a great time!
Meredith, Ashlee, Stacey, & Tracey

Meredith has 2 sets of twin friends! Here we are with Carrie & Ashley!

Sam's mothers day program

Sam & Brooke had their mothers day program at school. They sung the cutest songs- my favorite was "I love my mommy, my mommy loves me" So sweet! Sam made me a heart keychain and a box painted with a flower & a bookmark. Then they served their mommies tea & cake

Fun at the Arboretum

We had a great morning at the Arboretum on Monday Grandma Peggy & Emerson, Sam & Grandpa Len had a great time riding on the tram for a personal tour of the arboretum Jessie, Sam, and our cousing Madeline from Minnesota loved the open areas to run and play While Emerson was very concerned about the bug crawling on the flower

Our first swim for the spring!

We had a great breakfast with Kirt's cousins from Minnesota- we took advantage of the warm weather. Grandpa Len heated the pool for the inagrual swim of the season! Sam loved swimming with Matt & Tyler. Kirt braved the water with Emerson.

Celebrating my birthday with the Greenwoods

Brithday girls at Brio for dinner.

Weekend getaway

Kirt & I had a great weekend away. We stayed at The Worthington and they were nice enough to upgrade us to a suite at no extra charge- I think they saw that I was pregnant and Kirt told them it was my birthday. We had a great lunch at Joe T Garcia's with mexican food on the patio- nothing better on a sunny day! Then we went and saw a movie and had dinner at Reata on the rooftop overlooking downtown and then we went to a comedy theater. We had a great time! Thanks to my parents for watching the kids overnight and Tracey & Josh for taking Sam to a carnival on Saturday. Tonite we are celebrating my birthday with Tracey & Josh and my parents have the kids again tonight! Sam & Emerson LOVE to go to Grandma's house- Sam keeps saying "I wanted to stay 5 nights- why did you come & get me?" I always joke with my mom that Sam would just rather move in over there.
